Since 2017, Dave & Shirley have been welcoming travellers, cyclists, families and their four-legged friends to two country properties in the heart of south-west France — one on a quiet lane 7 minutes from the bastide town of Eymet, the other lakeside in Villeréal.
We’re proud Airbnb Superhosts with a 4.9/5 rating — but more than that, we like meeting people, sharing our favourite corners of the Dordogne / Lot-et-Garonne, and giving your dog somewhere safe to run.
OUR STORY
From a family holiday spot to two homes we share.
We first fell for this quiet corner of south-west France on a family trip more than a decade ago. When the chance came to restore an old country cottage on a lane outside Eymet, we couldn’t say no — and the Gite at Raffet was born.
A few years later, when a small lakeside bungalow came up in Villeréal, we knew guests would love it too — a different pace, a different setting, but the same welcome.

THE AREA WE CALL HOME
Bastides, vineyards, and the slow lane.
Both our homes sit between the medieval bastide towns of Eymet and Villeréal — a corner of the Périgord where you can walk the vines in the morning, sit in a market square for lunch, and eat a proper long dinner under the stars.
